These are some pictures and video clips from our trip to Arkansas in August 2003. Yeah, I

know what you're thinking, but I figured we had never backpacked in the Ozarks, so I thought

we would give it a shot. Well, as we got closer, we began to realize that Arkansas in August

was just not that good of an idea. So we took some "side trips" to Faulkner's house in Oxford,

MS (yeah, I'm a nerd...), and then we went down to New Orleans. I thought New Orleans was

about the skankiest place I had ever seen, so we took an airboat ride in the swamp, then

headed up to the Ozarks. The Ozarks were okay, but they were less impressive than my

backyard in Tennessee, so we just headed back home and spent the rest of the trip on the

lake. Remember, flexibility is the key!  I also have a video clip of our air boat ride and one of an
