Round Bald, TN/NC - July 2004 - Chris and I hiked up to Round Bald (Google Map) and on

towards Hump Mountain on the Appalachian Trail on the Tennessee and North Carolina state

line.  The trail starts at Carver's Gap near Roan Mountain.  We wanted to make it to Hum

Mountain, but this was a much tougher trail than we had anticipated, and we chickened out

and pitched camp around Yellow Mountain Gap...I don't know if I'll ever make it to Hump

Mountain!  Then rained on us pretty good overnight, so that was a lot of fun.  But it's really

pretty up here with all the balds.
