On 27 Jun 09, Tracy and I headed out to Island Lake (Google Map) in the Uintas.  We had big plans of

making it all the way to Island Lake, but we were moving pretty slowly, so we only made it as far as

Fish Lake.  We ended up camping at McCoy Park and had the entire meadow to ourselves...that was

nice.  In fact, we had the trail pretty much to ourselves the whole two days, and only saw 5 or 6 people.

The mosquitos were out pretty good, but some Deet and the ThermaCall handled them pretty well.  But

this was a great trail: there were lots of lakes, and, best of all, lots of wide open meadows.  It reminded

us of Colorado, which makes us happy.  It was really, really pretty, and I would love to find more parks

like this in the Uintas.  Enjoy the pictures, though, because this was one of our favorite places we've

found in the Uintas.
