The weekend of 7 Jun 08 I took what is now turning into my annual spring trip to Cat Canyon

(Google Map).  Tracy went to spend the weekend with her family in Colorado, so I headed out

to Cat Canyon by myself.  This makes the third year in a row that I have gone to Cat Canyon

as the first backpack of the summer season...it's usually warm here pretty early, so that's why I

always end up here.  I really tried to make it to Little Horse Heaven this time, but after going 6

miles up the trail, I looked at the GPS and realized the trail didn't go to Little Horse Heaven.

Good times.  I backtracked to see if I missed a trail, but I didn't find another one.  And then, as

luck would have it, I ended up camping in the exact same meadow as we have camped the

past two years.  Good times.  When I got back to the truck, I checked the trail book, and the

description doesn't really make it clear that you have to go cross country to get to Little Horse

Heaven...but I guess you do.  Maybe the fourth time will be the charm to make it there...  It's

still a nice trail, though, because we've never seen anyone else out there, and it's easy to get

to.
